Send-A-Kid to Camp
Spring is here and children are dreaming of summer. Support Perry Center, Inc.'s youth by donating to 2008 Camp Dream. Each summer around 120 campers participate in educational programs to prevent summer learning loss, socialize with positive peers, and gain from a positive, structured environment which your support makes available to them. Tax Assistance Program
Get free help filing your taxes and recouping the EITC tax credit at the Perry School during weekdays or on Saturdays. During the weekdays, taxes are being prepared by National Student Partnership (NSP) and individuals who want to do their taxes at this time should call 202-289-2525 to make an appointment. For those who want to do their taxes on Saturday, just walk in between 10:00am and 1:00pm. The front desk will direct you to the computer lab. You'll need your and your dependents' social security number; a copy of last year taxes, if you filed, and photo ID. There are no charges. If they want to file electronically, they must have a bank account.
Summer Camp Dream
Free summer fun for youth ages 5 to 13! Summer camp will be held from June 23 through August 4. For intake information, contact the Youth Development Department at 202-312-7157.
Computer Classes
Perry Center, Inc. offers computer training in its state of the art computer lab. This class is recommended to the young as well as the old. Students will be well pleased with the comfortable surrounding as they take a journey into the world of computers. The classes are instructor lead and the experience is hands on. Classes include Introduction to Computers, Windows XP, Internet, MS Outlook E-mail, and MS Office 2003. We also offer advanced classes. Exercise Classes
Join us, lose weight, and tone your muscles in exercise classes that are open to all community members. Work towards achieving your fitness goals Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11am-12pm at the Boys and Girls Club, east of the Perry School. New Communities Redevelopment
Perry Center, Inc.'s New Communities Case Management Program is an effort to provide services to assist individuals in returning to the community once it's redeveloped. All residents of 76 M St., NW, Sibley Plaza Townhouses, Turnkey, and former residents of Golden Rule Garden Apartments should contact Lashone at 202-312-2443, Diane at 202-312-7161, or Carlton at 202-312-2440 for assistance during this transition.
