Perry School Community Services Center, Inc. (Perry School) operates out of a building with historical significance near the crossroads of New York Avenue and North Capitol Street NW in Washington, DC.

 

In 1891, after 20 years of community pressure, Congress appropriated $112,000 to build a permanent school, and the M Street High School officially opened.  The building was one of the first, publicly-funded high schools for Black students in the country.

Perry School provides affordable space to nonprofit organizations. Perry School staff partner with organizations to foster a collaborative place where our tenants have the support needed to optimize mission impact.

During the past twelve months, Perry School tenants have provided programs and services to over 4,500 District adults, families, youth, and children.   

Beginning in November, space will be available for lease.  Space options include small offices for 1-3 staff and larger suites that can accommodate a larger number...

The Perry Center uses a collaborative, comprehensive, and integrated approach to social services, economic empowerment, and youth development. Our mission is to apply these approaches to alleviate the conditions of poverty in order to help ensure positive outcomes for youth, adults and families within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, with particular preference to its defined service area.
