Making Camp Dream a Reality
Summer can be a very positive or negative experience for youth from low-income communities. They can make new friends, learn new skills, advance academically, visit new places with new experiences, and have fun and a good time in a safe and supportive environment. Or they can hang around with nothing to do, get into trouble, suffer summer learning loss, and be worse off a the end of the summer
Help us make this summer a positive and enriching experience for disadvantaged youth from the low-income communities that Perry Center, Inc. serves. Camp Dream will last for six weeks from June 29 th thru August 7th five days a week for six hours a day. Campers will enjoy a wide variety of enriching and developmentally appropriate activities including academic learning, computer skills, arts and crafts, healthy lifestyles with nutrition education and nutritious meals, conflict resolution that emphasizes esteem and respect for oneself, others and one's community, recreation that emphasizes team building , and cultural , educational and fun field trips. These activities will occur in a safe, secure, structured and supportive environment. The camp will have opportunities for family participation with Family Nights and presentations by campers to their families and community.
Thank you for making the summer of 2015 a positive and enriching experience for our young people.
