Coach Requirements:

  •  A commitment to help youth reach their full potential
  • 21 years of age or older
  • One or more years of post-high school education
  • 10-month to year+ commitment to your player
  • Meet your player once a week for an hour, minimum
  • Pass background and TEAM screening process

Coaches’ Expectations:

  • Professionalism: Be consistent give 24 hours notice if you have to reschedule an appointment.
  • Time requirements: A minimum of 2 hours per week including one face to face session
  • Match Time: A minimum of 10 months with a 60 day introductory period before changes are made. 
  • Coaches’ Reports: Mentor weekly or monthly report outlining what activities or discussions and next steps taken. Also report on any positive developments in the child’s life.
  • Confidentiality: Please respect the lives of the participants!!!
  • Supports: If you have any questions please direct them to the Program Coordinator to find the best resources for you and the player.
  • Program rules:
    • During the 60 day introductory period we’re encouraging all face to face visits occur at the Perry School Social Service Center. If you have an outside activity for the youth you must obtain a permission slip from the Program Coordinator and receive permission from parent or gurdian.
    • No fraternization with parents or relatives of participants while in an active mentoring relationship.
    • Gifts or monetary contributions must be approved by the Program Coordinator to be deemed appropriate.
    • Coaches’ reports must be faxed or e-mailed  to the Program Coordiantor
  • Boundaries: Don’t let the youth take advantage of kindness you must be firm but loving. Also if parents have requests of you have them contact the Program Coordinator.
