About TEAM:

TEAM is a mentoring program to help at-risk boys and girls (ages 8-14) residing in downtown Washington to improve their academic, communication and life skills.  The program was launched in 2002 through a grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.  In the TEAM program, adult men and women (the coaches) are matched with youth (the players) for a one-to-one, weekly mentoring relationship.  The youth involved in the program receive a more promising view of the world from the guidance of a caring adult.
